nspired by the opening scene from Zardoz, the middle section of Solaris and the final scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Cove attempted to translate these chunks of conceptual science fiction/science fact film making into their own chunks of music.

The Thing is Cove’s 4th (posthumous) studio album and was recorded in a similar fashion to the Grateful Dead’s Anthem of the Sun album; it is a mixture of studio recordings and sonic collages, weird overdubs and a dismantling of the Riff.
